What is Claude for Small Business, exactly?
Claude for Small Business is the productized small-market version of Claude for Enterprise. Same model family. Same context windows. Same Constitutional AI safety layer. Different administration, different price, different connector library.
The bundle includes the Claude chat interface, a workflow catalog, native connectors to the eight most common SMB systems of record, and an admin console for permissions, audit logs, and data residency controls. SOC 2 Type II is in scope. HIPAA Business Associate Agreements are not, at least not yet.
Anthropic is positioning the tier as the on-ramp for companies that bounced off the prosumer plan because they needed admin controls, and bounced off Enterprise because they did not need 500 seats. That is a real gap. Anthropic filled it cleanly.
What workflows actually ship in the box?

What does Anthropic deliberately leave out?

That language matters. It is not a marketing posture. It is a regulatory posture. The EU AI Act, in force as of August 2024 and progressively applicable through 2026 and 2027, treats the deployer of an AI system as responsible for risk classification, conformity assessment, and post-deployment monitoring. Anthropic is the provider. You are the deployer. The deployer obligations do not transfer.
In practice, Anthropic ships the model, the runtime, and the connectors. You ship the policy, the workflow design, the audit cadence, and the incident response protocol.
